Counselling is a form of talking therapy where you can freely discuss any personal challenges you are facing. It provides a confidential and safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, helping you develop self-awareness and ways of coping.

Approach To Counselling

Below is a description of the approach taken when counselling. This is really important as a potential client, as not every approach will suit you. Therefore, it is important to do your research and choose a counsellor and approach that you feel will be a good fit for you.

Person-Centred Approach

A person-centred encourages you to take the lead in your own healing and values that this is your life and therefore you know what is best for you. This approach aims to view the world and your experiences through your eyes, listen to your experiences without judgement and provide an honest therapeutic relationship. You are supported to take an active role in your counselling journey, making decisions and actions that align with who you are. 

Transpersonal Psychology

A transpersonal approach encourages you to welcome the challenges you face and use these as an opportunity to grow and discover more about your true self. It aims to integrate all aspects of your life including physical, emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual to deepen your self-awareness and explore your sense of purpose and meaning. You are encouraged to explore your inner world, confront your challenges, and embrace your strengths. By enhancing all our inner capacities we begin to make long-term change. This approach explores counselling creatively using mindfulness, meditation, art, dreams and nature.

Creative Therapy

Creative counselling offers an opportunity to express yourself without words. We use a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, collage and creative writing. You do not need to be good at art to engage in creative approaches, the materials are used to support you to access your feelings, not to create a masterpiece! Using creativity can bring new perspectives to issues and can be a powerful method to make new discoveries about ourselves.

Therapeutic Tarot

Therapeutic tarot is not about predicting the future or mediumship. It is used as a tool for self-reflection, exploration and growth. It is less about learning the traditional meanings of cards and instead focuses on the thoughts, feelings and questions that may arise when you look at the imagery of the cards. The cards provide a bridge to our subconscious mind enabling us to connect with our inner selves and gain deeper insight into our experiences.

Your Counselling Journey

Every counselling journey is unique and personal to each individual. To the right is a guide on what to expect if you choose to start your counselling journey with Everlight.

Counselling sessions are open-ended which means that you are in control of how many sessions you have. The frequency of sessions is also inn your control, some individuals prefer weekly or some prefer a session every couple of weeks. 

Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £45 per session.

Initial Meeting

A free initial 20 minute Zoom call to see if we feel I am the right fit for you. This is an opportunity to share why you are seeking help, outline your goals, and ask any questions.

First Session

During your first session, we will go over the therapeutic contract and what approaches you would like or not like during counselling. You will have the opportunity to go into detail about what brought you to counselling. I may also ask you some questions about this and about your life in general.

Ongoing Sessions

We will review every 6 sessions to see how you feel things are going and to monitor progress.

To book an initial call, please send an email with a brief summary of your main concerns, when within the opening hours you are available for sessions and whether you are interested in counselling or psychology career support.

Opening Hours

Wednesday: 8am-3pm
Saturday: 8am-3pm

Occasional evening appointments may be available for monthly clients or psychology career support sessions.
