About Me

Hello,

My name is Rachel and welcome to Everlight Psychology.

I am a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor, graduate member of the BPS and have studied psychology all my adult life. I have experience counselling both adults and young people and felt called to share my love for all things psychology and counselling!

I am passionate about helping people using psychology, whether that is through counselling sessions or supporting individuals through their psychology career.

I also have a passion for art, creativity and  spirituality and I enjoy integrating these tools within my sessions  to help individuals explore their thoughts and feelings more creatively.

I also appreciate the value of nature therefore my counselling space is based in the countryside with views of open fields.

My Personal Story

From a young age, I have always been a quiet, creative and highly-sensitive person. I often felt different from others and struggled to find my place in the world, I was later diagnosed autistic as an adult. I had my first experience of counselling when I was a teenager and this led me to find a passion for psychology and counselling.

After completing my qualifications and working as a counsellor, I suddenly lost my mother when I was 21, who I was incredibly close to. The grief that followed has hugely impacted my life, however it also led me to find a passion for helping others experiencing bereavement.

Following this, I was  accepted first time to the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology to complete my training as a psychologist. Sadly, I had to put this dream on pause, however I still aspire to become a psychologist but this path may look a little different now!
